My father has lost his language at the Flemish Cultural center, in Amsterdam
When the father of illustrator Ephameron (Eva Cardon) began to suffer from a form of dementia that affected his ability to use language, she started to make drawings about this. She documented the impact of the illness over a period of ten years and collected this in the book Wij twee samen. In the exhibition, we enter a labyrinth made up of the original collages – a story told in pictures, in which words gradually lose their meaning. Playful, confrontational images draw us into the long process of letting go.
