jDome BikeAround is a product created at Health Technology Centre in Halland. jDome BikeAround provides virtual bicycle tours for individuals with dementia. Using pedals to move the “bike” forward and the sensors in a Samsung Galaxy Tab to “steer”, induviduals can bike wherever they want to go, immersed in the bike tour, thanks to the jDome screen. Content is applied with the help of modified versions of Google Street View, for instance. jDome BikeAround was originally concieved by personal at a dementia home. From 37 possible solutions, jDome BikeAround was chosen to make eldery with dementia to get a little excercise and memory training in a fun way. Initial testing has been very positive.
